The Alvin Museum Society in Texas is dedicated to preserving the culture and history of Texas and surrounding areas through community-based activities. It was founded in 1974 by Dr. Alvin Rosenthal, who also served as the city’s historical adviser and is considered the father of modern-day museum planning. In keeping with the times, the society hosts a wide variety of events such as musicals, theatrical presentations, lectures and film shows, book launches, art exhibits, newsletters, cookery classes, and much more.
